Pasivno razumevanje stranog jezika nije ono čemu težimo jer to možete i sami postići.

Kod nas ćete izgubiti strah od grešaka u komunikaciji na željenom stranom jeziku jer je naša deviza misao koju je izgovorio Elbert Hubbard ‘The greatest mistake you can make in life is continually to be fearing you will make one’ (‘Najveća greška koju možete učiniti u životu je da se stalno bojite da ćete je napraviti’), jer greške predstavljaju most koji vodi iz neznanja u znanje.

Dozvolite nam da Vam pomognemo da zakoračite u svet spremni.

SPELL – Škola stranih jezika Niš

Stajković

profesorka engleskog, vlasnica i Direktorka Centra SPELL

Running the Centre and being the Manager and a teacher all entail a lot of responsibilities and personal characteristics necessary for working successfully. Having worked in different areas, I have acquired and improved skills which are, in my opinion, a must for a teacher. A good teacher is a good listener, assessor, resource, organiser, facilitator, counsellor, lively, patient, motivational and motivated, fond of different cultures, creative, full of enthusiasm, flexible, open-minded, has a professional approach, gets the best out of others, thinks and reacts fast. These are all the aspects that I am striving for.

Bogojević

Praktikant – nastavnik engleskog

The first words I uttered were in English. Since then, English has become an extremely important part of my life whether it has been for games, films, music, books or chit chat with friends.

I have had many opportunities to observe teachers at work and gain some hands-on experience.

Being raised by a passionate English teacher means gaining an insight into the pleasure of preparing for classes and interacting with students.

I am looking forward to that!

Working as a teacher for so many years made me realise that being a teacher is something I really enjoy doing. By teaching other people and sharing my knowledge I also learn. I learn about people, their needs, feelings, interests. I learn how to be a better teacher, how to improve myself in many different aspects. Teaching and learning is a whole life process.

Being a teacher of a foreign language and having the opportunity to deal with various cultures made me realize that teaching/learning process should primarily be fun.
As Tom Ford says ‘’When you are having fun and creating something you love, it shows in the product.’’ Otherwise, teachers seem to be unapproachable and students feel like some heavy load is put on their back and there is no possibility to relax and enjoy. Therefore, I think we should keep it simple. A good teacher should be relaxed, pleasant and optimistic. A good teacher should listen carefully, react spontaneously and be ready to encourage students all the time. A good teacher should also ‘’think out of the box’’ and put themselves in their students’ shoes. A good teacher should be analytical and ready to face challenges. And, if you are an English teacher or a teacher of another foreign language, the situation is even more interesting both for you and for your students. You have the opportunity to teach not only a foreign language but also to make a completely different way of living, perception and culture more approachable to people in your classroom. This is an amazing opportunity and stunning experience. That is why I love teaching.

I do believe that ‘we teach who we are’ and that ‘the role of a teacher is to guide and inspire’. That is why each profession related to teaching is a special one. You cannot do it without putting yourself out there. You address different personalities in your work, you become part of different people’s lives – it makes you so much responsible.

In my opinion, the most important skill in the ELT business is being able to adapt to every single class/situation/environment and do your best there. I have had hundreds of trainees of different ages, nationalities, backgrounds so far. And I was supposed to instruct, teach or train them in different skills related to English language.

What I have always done is concentrating on their needs (doing needs analyses), their personal profiles, their learning styles, their strengths and weaknesses in order to make learning easier, more enjoyable, and more effective.

Teaching a foreign language is a challenging job. What I have learned in my career so far is that I have to adapt to my students’ needs, their interests and strivings. That every student is different and that each of them needs a different approach. That if you want to be a good teacher you must inspire and motivate your students, you must be willing to work, be patient, open and flexible. In that way the success of your students in mastering some aspects of a foreign language is even more rewarding.

BENVENUTI NEL MONDO DELLA LINGUA ITALIANA!

Denke GROSS!

What we teach today echoes in the future. When we teach, we touch the future. The best way to prepare students for the future is by empowering them in the present. Learning a foreign language opens doors to a million career opportunities. “A good teacher is a master of simplification and an enemy of simplism” – Luis A. Berman.

A good teacher should be a creative, positive, loving and caring person who treats his or her students with respect. Teaching has always been a ‘win win’ situation for me. I like to inspire, guide and teach others. However, through that process, I have learnt a lot from my students too. The main reason I like what I do is the freedom of creating magic within the walls of my classroom…I can play, dance, sing and perform together with my students, which in my opinion is the ideal situation for the learning process to take place unnoticed.
